Fontaine Estates Winery Wedding | Ellensburg

Ashley and TJ’s amazing winery wedding designer contacted me first – she told me she had the SWEETEST couple that she knew would be a great match for us.

She was right – when we adventured together in the snow up near Denny Creek this past winter for their engagements, we fell in love with their easy love story and positive energy. With Inked Romance at the design and coordination helm of this Fontaine Estates Winery wedding, I knew this event was going to be gorgeous, but I had no idea how beautiful – the attention to detail was perfection. Nothing was missed.

Of course, we know you want to hear the fun details, so from the bride herself:

How did the two of you meet?
TJ and I were introduced to each other through a mutual friend group. We had known OF each other, but were never formally introduced. TJ was also finishing up his term in the Navy and lived about 3 hours away so on his weekends off, he came to town. I didn’t know until the following May, but one of my friends at the time had talked me up in efforts to nudge TJ to make a move at a New Years Party we were going to. The whole group played games all night, it was a blast and I knew he had been flirting but didn’t think anything of it. After all, he lived almost 3 hours away. Later on, 6 months later, that friend had told me about her efforts to set us up on New Years. I rolled my eyes and didn’t think anything of it. That same group of friends had hacked into TJ’s phone, adding my phone number in. After that, we started talking and completely hit it off. The rest is history.

How did the proposal happen?
One crisp, cold Sunday morning TJ had suggested that we go on a drive into the mountains. This is something we love to do on the weekends but due to the billows of snow outside, I wasn’t too fond of the idea of trudging out. But he was persistent and wanted to go right then. So I went along with his crazy idea and we started driving. He drove up to one of our favorite spots, drove through the trees and into a patch of untouched snow by the creek. He stopped the car, and insisted that we get out of the car to walk around… At this point, I knew something was up so again, I went along and got out of the car. We started kicking snow at each other, and walked a little further towards the creek. Then he looked at me, pulled a box out of his coat, and got down on one knee. I’m not entirely sure what he said after that, but I do remember saying, “YES. Of course!” And on that Sunday morning, mid January, we were engaged.

Is there a special reason you chose Fontaine Estates Winery for your venue?
Nothing in particular other than the fact that we both loved the venue as soon as we laid eyes on it. They were also COMPLETELY BOOKED and had just one Saturday available (which was the Saturday we had set). We couldn’t help but feel that it was meant to be.

What inspired the clothing choices for the wedding?
Floral Arrangements, I based the bridesmaid dress color choice off of the fact that the ceremony was set overlooking the vineyards. I knew I wanted a lot of neutral colors and greenery to compliment the scenery. So we went with Sage Green dresses, and navy blue slacks for a little pop of color. Family of the bridal party wore primarily navy blue as well.

If we bumped in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?
My weekend would look like coffee in hand, walking through a street market, or maybe a scenic drive through the mountains (TJ and I love the outdoors).
