The Ice Caves Elopement
This concept shoot was a long time in planning. When we came up with the idea, we contacted one of our WedBassador couples to see if they were game – and we knew they would be, this location was right up their alley – and we made plans to shoot in December. The day before our scheduled date, there was an avalanche at the Ice Caves that temporarily trapped two hikers, and very nearly cancelled all plans for the concept.
Except … as with most concepts, the idea won’t rest until it’s out of your head. For this shoot, we were lucky enough to work with Kristine’s Floral Design for the bouquet, centerpiece and boutonneire; Kayla’s Kakes for the naked cake; Sweet Buffet Lady for the gorgeous silver sequin table cloth; and A Northwest Soiree for the place settings. The day was perfect, even with the slight sprinkle. While the hike to the actual Ice Caves was a little longer than we planned, it was so worth it.
Many of you will recognize this couple from the other work we’ve done together – and this shoot made us even more excited for their wedding this coming June! Thanks again, Amber & Jesse for being the perfect pair for this awesome concept. And of course, thank you to Melissa for loaning us your wedding dress (the cream one) and tagging along for the day!
Another fun fact? The day we shot, the rain turned to snow and the trail across the bridge was closed! Timing was on our side!
Ready? I know I am!
