When we pulled in to this Ashe & Alder wedding, we were in awe of the beauty of this venue. The mountain backdrop was the closest thing I’ve seen to a Montana view in the PNW, and to say we were excited was an understatement.
The day held more for us than we realized – incredible wind blew most of the day, and then as the reception dance party was getting started an epic storm rolled in bringing with it rain, thunder and lightning. This group partied hard through it all, and never stopped smiling.
We always ask our couples to answer a few questions, so from our sweet bride Chantelle:
How did the two of you meet?
Tanner and I met in Senior year of high school. He was my neighbors good friend, and I saw him there often. Although I thought he was an annoying show off…he later changed my mind! Tanner is a super happy guy, always down to do anything. I really liked that about him. After spending three weeks with him, I decided he wasn’t as bad after all, and let him be my boyfriend!
Tell us all the awesome proposal details.
Tanner planned the whole thing while I was away on vacation. He knew I wanted my family involved so we would have lots of photos and videos of the very special moment! (I had NO clue he was even thinking of purposing!!) Tanner decided to purpose to me during our largest camping/dirt biking trip we go on every year. It was such a dream proposal. Most of our family and friends were there to celebrate with us. And the best part- they were just as shocked as i was because only FOUR out of the 30 people knew!!  (PS – See this adorable couple’s engagement session here – it includes dirt-bikes, of course!)
Is there a reason you choose your venue, Ashe & Alder, for your wedding?
We fell in love with our venue because we absolutely LOVE the owners. They have felt like family since day one!! And we also love how laid back their “rules” are compared to everywhere else. That really took some stress off our shoulders.
Did you DIY anything for your Ashe & Alder Wedding?
We made our own Bar, the Mrs. and Mrs. table, the center pieces, and all of the signs!
What inspired the clothing choices for your Ashe & Alder wedding?
We really like simplicity, but also enjoy looking the part. We had the girls each pick a color dress that suited them best, that they felt comfortable in! And decided the boys outfits should be comfortable and something they could wear to any other event so they didn’t feel like they spent money on something the didn’t like or could never wear again!
If we bumped in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?
Having breakfast at the local small town restaurant.
