Backyard Mt Vernon Wedding

In early August, we had the honor of photographing this beautiful backyard Mt Vernon wedding.

How did the two of you meet?
We met through an online dating app called Bumble. Since I was going to grad school, I was off island waiting in the Anacortes Ferry terminal a lot. While waiting in the terminal, Travis was “in my radius”. He was up in Burlington for his 30th birthday, as he was living in Portland Oregon at the time. He grew up in Burlington, and I grew up outside of Portland. So it felt somewhat serendipitous. After chatting for a few weeks, we agreed to meet up at the Pie Bar in Seattle. When I was going to grad school on the weekends, I would stay with my friend Shane in Capitol Hill. Travis was making a trip north to visit his family, so we decided to meet for Pie and Cocktails at the Pie Bar.

How did the proposal happen?
Travis proposed during our trip to Greece. We decided to take a trip to Greece to celebrate me finishing Graduate school. While we were in Santorini he proposed on the balcony of the place we stayed at.

Why did you choose your venue?
It is our home! We just bought a house a year ago. Because of COVID we had to find different place to have the wedding, so we figured getting married in our backyard would be very sentimental, and create such a neat memory for years to come.
