What on earth does this title mean? Well…. it may just have been one of our favorite moments from this Woodinville wedding.
And there are so, so many. But, I digress. The moment and the meaning: Our bride, Alyssa, was called Pumpkin Mouse when she was younger, as we all learned during her Dad’s speech-turned-rap (something he’d promised her he would do when she was younger), and well, she married Mike Lamb. There was laughter everywhere as Dad recruited Mike to help him perform this rap, complete with Pumpkin Mouse props and sunglasses.
Our other favorite moments included an incredible first look (she was sure he wouldn’t react – but oh my word did he prove her wrong!), beautiful wedding party and incredible details. Their vows were tender and sweet – not a dry eye left in the house. And the party! These two danced the night away surrounded by their nearest and dearest – some of whom flew in from far away countries (yes, COUNTRIES) to join them at their Woodinville wedding celebration.
Some of the great Woodinville wedding details from the bride, Alyssa, herself:
How did the two of you meet?
We met through mutual friends. We went to the same high school, but he was two years older.
Tell us the awesome proposal details:
Michael proposed to me on 03/25/2017. He really tricked me because my birthday and our 5 year anniversary was the next day. He took me to the Washington Park Arboretum, and I had thought he was just trying to do something special for our anniversary and birthday. It was funny because he was acting nervous but I didn’t want to get my hopes up! I saw a bulge in his coat pocket and i for sure thought it was a ring! Turns out it was his cell phone and that’s when I got bummed and told myself it wasn’t going to happen. 1 minute later he looked at me and said “You know I love you right?” and I said “yeaah” looking all weird, and then he said ” well then there’s only one thing left to ask” he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him underneath a gorgeous cherry blossom tree. He even had our friend a photographer meet us there and she was hiding to capture our special moment. That day he re-created our very first anniversary took me to the same hotel we stayed at in 2013. He also surprised me with a wonderful Italian dinner at Tulio’s. It was the best day of my life.
Is there a special reason you choose Chateau Lill as the venue for your Woodinville wedding?
I chose our venue because it reminds me of my European heritage. Its like a little slice of Europe in Washington, it felt special.
Do you have any DIY, special decor or special moments?
A wine cork board made for seating chart. All wedding signs, are done by an old co-worker. Wine cork table # holders and menu holders. Michael and I will also be wearing my grandparent’s wedding bands on our right hands.
Photographer’s note: I met a couple of times with Alyssa and Mike during wedding planning, and Alyssa mentioned her special relationship with her grandmother. Unfortunately, her grandmother passed away prior to the wedding, so we sought out a way to include her in small special ways in the photography. Lavender was her favorite, so you’ll see it hidden in a few photos that we created without Alyssa’s knowledge to surprise her when she saw her wedding gallery. We also had a bundle of them on hand for Alyssa’s father to hold during family photos to signify her presence.
Where would we find you if we bumped into you on a relaxing weekend?
Either eating at a restaurant drinking wine, working out or watching our favorite tv shows.
