When we arrived at Rachel & Kevin’s Lord Hill Farm Snohomish wedding, it was quiet and peaceful.
The coordination team was on site and setting things up for the day, and we were able to walk around for a few minutes gathering ideas and perspectives, aiming to find new views and places. The quiet calm broke when the sound of bass and loud music took over the venue grounds as the wedding party’s party bus pulled on site. They were greeted by the Ring Security guard, looking official with his custom t-shirt, lock box and earpiece.
From there, the day was a whirlwind. Sunshine breaks, breezy winds, and then sudden bursts of rain were the name of the game for the day… but there was a sweet determination to carry out the day as planned. And we did – Rachel and Kevin married in the garden yard overlooking the valley, amidst their family, friends and loved ones … and more umbrellas and raindrops than anyone could count.
After dinner, toast, and dancing, the storm moved on and left us with the most incredible skies (you’ll see photo proof below) and the temp was calm and perfect for the evening’s sparkler exit.
We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the day – and of course, we know you want to hear all the details from Rachel, the bride, herself:
How did the two of you meet?
Kevin and Rachel first met in high school. Both of them attended Bothell High School and Kevin was a year older than Rachel. Kevin played football and Rachel was a cheerleader so their paths crossed often but they did not date. After college they reconnected through friends and went out in Kirkland. They hit it off and then had their first official date at the fair.
How did the proposal happen?
Kevin took Rachel to his family cabin in Leavenworth in December 2016. They went in to town and Kevin surprised Rachel in front of all the Christmas trees in downtown Leavenworth. It was 6 degrees out and they were surrounded by their closest friends. Rachel did not see it coming at all.
Is there a special reason you chose your Lord Hill Farm Snohomish wedding venue?
It was a beautiful venue with rustic wood touches and whimsical lights. The versatility of it and that they were a “one-stop-shop” really sold us. It has been so nice having catering and floral all from the venue.
Are there any special touches planned for your wedding day?
Our guest books are at each table and they are journals for our guests to write notes for us to read on each anniversary. We are also having a popcorn bar, and there will be a sparkler exit in the evening.
Tell me about your wedding day outfit choices.
I’m wearing an ivory, lace, fit and flare dress. The back and the train are very eye catching. It comes up high and has a low open back. They call it a reverse halter. The style is ‘Winifred’ by Maggie Sottero. I am wearing sparkly Keds as shoes. Minimal jewelry, and my hair in a loose updo. Kevin is wearing a grey suit with brown shoes. The bridesmaids are wearing dusty sage dresses from Azazie. They are all different styles but the same color. They are all floor length and chiffon. The groomsmen are wearing a light grey suit with white undershirt and dusty sage tie with black shoes.
What inspired your wedding day clothing choices?
Green is Rachel’s favorite color. The light grey compliments it nicely and provides a light and airy vibe to the day.
If we bumped in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?
At our family cabin in Leavenworth, floating the river or reading a book.
