The Elegant Dark Side | A Monte Cristo Ballroom Everett Wedding

Monte Cristo Ballroom was the perfect setting for this Friday evening Everett wedding.

When we arrived, people were milling about building the floral wall backdrop for the ceremony, setting the reception area tables, tying bows on the backs of chairs. The bride and her bridesmaids were at the nearby Marriott having their hair and makeup done while the groom and his groomsmen drank beer and hung out in the on site lounge, and we got right to work photographing details.

We loved the sweet father/daughter first look, and of course when Andrew saw his bride, Lanie, for the first time that day. We’d been lucky enough to work with most of the bridal party the weekend before at the rain storm wedding at Lord Hill Farm,, so there was a lot of laughter and joking going on throughout the bridal party photos and reception. They also had what I am fairly certain is the shortest ceremony we’ve ever experienced. It took longer to get everyone down the aisle than it did to get them actually married!

And of course, we couldn’t have Andrew & Lanie’s Everett wedding without the appearance of the Darth Vader and Stormtrooper helmets from their engagement session – we found some great ways to have them cameo during the ceremony.

Meet your photographers.

We’re Kate (she/her) and Josh (he/him). Married humans, emotional chaos wranglers, coffee worshippers, timeline nerds, Marvel fanatics, and occasional ugly criers at weddings. (Okay, maybe more than occasional. Look, vows get us. Every damn time.) Kate has been photographing since 1997 and Josh picked up the camera in 2011.
