Spring Machias Meadows Wedding

This was our first wedding of 2025, and it was such a fun start to the season – especially since it was in our little home community of Machias! This couple not only radiated love, but was surrounded by it on all sides.

As we do, we asked Jackie (and John) a few questions about their day:

Why did you choose Machias Meadows as your venue?
1) It is absolutely beautiful!
2) It allowed us to have a fully indoor wedding (ceremony + reception) w/o needing a room flip.
3) The owners are amazing and extremely accommodating.

How did the two of you meet?
Somewhat of a blind date. My MOH and one of John’s groomsmen used to date and were looking for someone to come out and ride quads. He scrolled through her Facebook friends list, came across my profile and she reached out to me. A month later, I rode on the back of the quad with John and the rest is history!

How did the proposal happen?
John completely surprised me. He invited my parents and his mom over to bbq – made it sound like it was for his mom’s birthday. They staged us taking photos in front of the house since we had just bought our first home a few months prior. He hid the ring earlier that day, got down on one knee, and proposed!

What special things do you have planned for your wedding?
While my dad will be walking me down the aisle, my mom will be standing at the end and her and my dad will be “giving me away”.

We will be doing a ring warming during the ceremony where family + guests will pass our rings taking a moment to make well wishes or pray over them.

During cocktail hour we will do a bridal party entrance with a game of flip cup (Team Bride vs Team Groom).

I will also be doing a bouquet dedication to my mom instead of a bouquet toss.

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?
Our first look, John and I will be exchanging our private vows.

If we were to run into you on a day off, what would you be doing?
We would either be home working on house projects or we might be driving the Tracker around (top off) driving back roads and bar hopping.
