“The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.” – helen keller
I adventured to Montana last week for some amazing engagement sessions. This pair is one of our fall 2017 couples, and when we talked about location, they had the perfect spot in mind. I’ve photographed a lot of places in Helena, MT, but this was a new one for me. As we drove up the narrow road on the hill, you could see the view out the window getting more majestic as we rose – and I knew I was in for a spectacular treat.
I wasn’t disappointed. This gorgeous hill lives near Canyon Ferry in Helena, MT, and as you can see, you’ve got a view of the valley that is absolutely perfect for an engagement session. When we arrived, the sun was dancing through the trees – but we didn’t have long. There was a storm fast approaching, and while I secretly hoped for lightning strikes in the distance, instead we were met with incredible winds. Thankfully, Ryan had his service-issued blanket with him to keep them both warm.
This place holds special meaning for them. They’ve spent a lot of their love story up here, and this is where Ryan proposed. You could tell that as soon as they got out of the truck, they were home. Our session was filled with laughter and jokes (and someone may or may not have struck one of the best “Next Top Model” poses ever).
I can’t wait til your Fall 2017 wedding in Helena, you two! <3
