Everything you need to know to plan a heartfelt, intentional celebration in the heart of the PNW, Snohomish WA.
If you’ve chosen to get married in Snohomish, Washington — you’ve already made one of the best decisions of your wedding journey. We’ve lived in Snohomish for a decade – and we are deeply invested in this incredible community and know how amazing of a space this is to start your journey as a married couple. We were also married in Snohomish!
Known for its sweeping valley views, romantic barn venues, charming downtown core, and serene PNW beauty, Snohomish is a gem of a place to say “I do.” It blends rustic charm with elevated elegance, offering a dreamy backdrop for couples who want their wedding to feel personal, peaceful, and full of story.
And while this part of Washington offers endless beauty, planning a Snohomish wedding comes with its own rhythms, timelines, and local insights (like guests showing up SUPER early — 45 minutes to an hour before ceremony).
We’re here to help.
Whether you’re just starting your planning or finalizing the final details, this ultimate checklist is your guide to creating a smooth, joyful, and stress-reducing experience — without losing the emotion in the process.
Curious about the budgeting end of planning a Snohomish Wedding? We’ve got you HERE.
✅ 12–24 Months Before: Groundwork & Vision
- ❏ Set your wedding date (or range of ideal dates – just in case you find a venue you love but your initial date isn’t available)
- ❏ Book your venue (Snohomish venues book fast — 12–24 months out is common!)
We recommend looking at: Pemberton Farm, Twin Willow Gardens, Fiddler’s Bluff, Machias Meadows, and Green Gates at Flowing Lake - ❏ Hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator (especially if your venue is DIY or “bring-your-own-everything”)
We recommend Town & Country Weddings, KW Weddings, Grit City Weddings, and Celebrate NW Events - ❏ Set your guest count and rough budget
- ❏ Begin researching key vendors (photographer – hopefully us – catering, DJ, etc.)
- ❏ Schedule engagement photos (after you hire your photographer) — many couples use Snohomish’s wildflower fields, historic streets, or woodsy trails
- ❏ Build a wedding website and share your save-the-dates
Local tip: Some of the most beloved Snohomish venues book out up to 2 years in advance and offer limited peak-season availability. Secure your date early if you have a dream venue in mind.
✅ 9–18 Months Before: Book the Creative Team
- ❏ Book your photographer + videographer
Of course, US for photography 🙂
For video, we recommend Emerald Media, Go Productions or Flint & Stone - ❏ Book your caterer, bar service, and dessert vendors
We recommend Maverick Catering, Terra Tovela or ACT3; Tipsy Trailer, Party on the Rocks or Firewater Events for bartending; and then Birch Bakery, Sheri’s Creative Cakes, Simply Sweet, Grain Artisan (for gluten free and dietary restrictions), Aha Sugar Co, and Sugar & Spoon. - ❏ Book DJ or live musicians
We love Lighting the Sound Productions, Otto-Matic Mobile Music, J&L Music, Headsmile Productions & Puget Sound DJs and then Afterparty Band, Blue Wave Band and Windsong Trio - ❏ Start dress/suit shopping
Our favorite shops are Adorned in Grace, Brides for a Cause, Blue Sky Bridal and For the Luv for gowns; We like Perfect Fit, Self Made Couture and Sew Generously Bespoke for suits. - ❏ Decide on ceremony style: religious, spiritual, secular, custom-written?
Make sure you discuss this with your officiant too – they can probably give incredible advice. We love Rev Ray Van Winkle (and his associates). - ❏ Consider guest lodging or transportation if you have many out-of-town attendees
Butler is hands down the best in our area for this. - ❏ Book hair & makeup team (they often book far in advance for PNW weddings – way sooner than most lists will recommend!)
We love Bridal Beauty by Ashley, Jessica Rockwell, Bethany Yackel Beauty, IM Artistry; for the guys we like Wanderer Barbering and Stache Mobile Barber. - ❏ Begin florals and design consultations
We love Pollen in Love, Tenderheart Botanicals, From the Ground Up, Tangled Roots, Flora D’Amore and Loveleigh Blooms for Floral. Design often falls under the umbrella of your coordinator, but they can give you incredible recommendations. For rentals, you have a ton of options: CORT, Grand, Pedersens, Alexander, Wander, Noble, Vintage Ambiance and so many more. You can even hire a specific lighting vendor for ambiance – we love Crimson Haze and Lightsmiths Seattle.
GSquared Tip:
This is the time to start dreaming about how you want the day to feel. We’ll work with you on a timeline that reflects your emotional rhythm — not just a shot list.
✅ 6–12 Months Before: Bring in the Details
- ❏ Order wedding attire + schedule fittings
- ❏ Send formal invitations or prepare digital RSVPs
- ❏ Choose ceremony readings and start writing your vows
- ❏ Finalize your vendor team extras (rentals, signage, photo booth, etc.)
We made some recommendations above, but for these things we love On the Wall Designs, TipsyPix, or Flash Frenzy Foto. We have so many other very specific vendors we love (like dog care!) so if you have a need, reach out and ask. - ❏ Book accommodations for you and your wedding party
- ❏ Plan your wedding-day timeline with your planner + photographer
- ❏ Choose your detail items (vow books, ring boxes, flatlay materials)
Photo Tip: Your details matter — from rings and heirlooms to florals and vow books. Set these aside for us in a bag along with the other “Day of List” items in your portal, so we can capture them beautifully before our getting ready coverage begins.
✅ 3–9 Months Before: Experience Planning
- ❏ Finalize ceremony + reception timelines
- ❏ Finalize menu and guest count
- ❏ Create seating chart and floor plan
- ❏ Book rehearsal dinner space (many cute options in downtown Snohomish!)
- ❏ Begin preparing personal touches (letters, welcome signs, favors, etc.)
- ❏ Schedule your final hair/makeup trials
- ❏ Make a list of family photos + must-capture groupings (we have samples and such in your portal!)
Emotional Reminder:
This is also when emotions start bubbling up. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Take breaks. Remember your “why.” And lean on your vendor team — that’s what we’re here for.
✅ 1–6 Months Before: Tie It All Together
- ❏ Confirm all final details with your vendors
- ❏ Build your final day-of schedule with buffer time (for breathing, snacks, and deep exhales)
- ❏ Pack your getting ready bag + detail box
- ❏ Write final love letters or gifts for each other
- ❏ Final dress/suit fitting
- ❏ Confirm ceremony details + logistics with officiant
- ❏ Make a rain plan (this is the PNW, after all — but don’t worry, we photograph beautifully in every light)
GSquared Tip:
Trust the process. The tiny things will fall into place. Your job is to be present — not perfect. We’ll be there to catch the moments you miss and the ones you’ll never want to forget.
✅ Week of the Wedding: Breathe & Be Present
- ❏ Rehearse the ceremony + walk-through
- ❏ Pack your overnight bags
- ❏ Drop off décor items, favors, or signage at the venue
- ❏ Steam dresses + suits, polish shoes
- ❏ Write any last-minute notes or vows
- ❏ Hydrate, eat, sleep — and let the love pour in
