Now that the 2017 wedding season is slowing down a little, we’re taking the time to blog some weddings that haven’t quite made their way online, like this one from January 2017 – our first Pickering Barn Wedding and our first wedding of our 2017 season.
And what a wedding to start the year off with – we had never met Nicole & Joseph before their wedding, and they were absolutely amazing people. They sincerely made you feel like you were part of the family instantly, and there was a lot of love, laughter and joyful memories being shared.
They were also game for anything – we had some interesting ideas, and they jumped right on it. When we pulled the couch out of the bridal suite and into the main barn, they trusted us completely and we created one of our all-time favorite photos.
Their Jewish ceremony was beautiful and filled with tradition. There is something powerful and deep when we get to experience incredible age-old traditions like these – they’re one of our favorite types of weddings. The weight of the commitment is strong, and the emotions felt by everyone involved are as well. When they shared their love story as part of the ceremony, I’m pretty sure there were very few dry eyes and a lot of nods in agreement over the great people whose Pickering Barn Wedding we were witness to.
Nicole and Joseph flew up from California to be married at this beautiful barn wedding venue in Issaquah – bringing with them their amazing chef of a friend as part of the bridal party. The food was incredible, but nothing topped the dances between Nicole & her mom and Joseph & his mom (complete with a wardrobe change!).
The simplicity of the decor – whites, browns, greens and gold – really complimented the rich tones of their barn wedding, and truly let the couple shine as the main centerpiece of the evening.
