We adore this couple so much.
This beautiful Black Diamond wedding celebration was filled with everything we love – incredible view, the outdoors, clients who are more like friends, and lots of great music. This was actually a celebration of a marriage that had already taken place – in a much more intimate setting, back in December (view that here).
Katie & Eric are that kind of couple that make you feel like you’re a part of the family. From their warm smiles and easy to talk to demeanor, everyone in their presence feels the happiness and love the exude. They’re comfortable together, and know just how to make each other smile or feel safe in the right moments.
It was such an honor to not only be present when these two said their vows back in December, but to also be there for this celebration of their marriage. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter & joy, you two!
All the gushy detail things (straight from our bride, Katie!):
How did the two of you meet?
We met the summer of 2005. He was home for the summer from school. At the time I was working at Round Table with a high school friend of Eric’s. She had a party on July 16.
Tell me all the awesome proposal details.
A family member became ill at the beginning of October 2017. We discussed telling her that we were getting married to help with her recovery. Technically we had planned most of the wedding before we were officially engaged. We went ring shopping and picked out a couple of things. Eventually Eric decided to have something custom made at a local jewelry store. However, he panicked that I wouldn’t like it and asked me to come with him to look. It happened to be ready that day, Halloween, so it came with us. Eric hates Halloween and I love it. So as a compromise we either go out to dinner fancy or we make something super yummy at home. This year we decided to cook at home. During appetizers I got busted looking at my ring; he had left it in his coat pocket. I was getting the main course going and hollered for Eric to come help. When I turned around he was on one knee in our kitchen. He said wonderful things. As I went to meet him, I ducked down to hug him around his neck, and knocked the ring out of his hand.
Is there something special about the venue you chose?
Neither Eric or I have a childhood home. Because I have been with Eric for most of my adult life, I feel like I grew up a lot in his parents’ home.
Is there anything special we should know about for your wedding?
The ring bearer signs: Eric made them. Also, Eric and I will walk one another down the aisle. Eric and I took dance lessons for our first dance, and there are fireworks planned after the last dance.
If we ran in to you on a relaxed weekend, what would we find you doing?Â
We would be at brunch on our second or third drink, sitting outside with our dog.
