Katy and Jeremiah’s inquiry for their Skykomish wedding came in with words from Journey: “Just a small town girl, Livin’ in a lonely world, She took the midnight train, Goin’ anywhere” … and I knew that they would be a fun couple. Jeremiah works for the railroad, and their reception location was the Skykomish Railway Museum.
When Katy was describing their ceremony location – off the beaten path, in the woods, on the edge of a creek – I had no idea just how perfect it would be. Maloney Creek in Skykomish is a quiet little hidden oasis in the woods. The ceremony was planned around the evening light – and since Katy is a photographer herself, so were the portraits. There was a warm glow not only in the air, but between the two of them as they couldn’t stop smiling when they caught each-other’s eye.
Her dress was something out of a fairytale, and her son carried a teddy bear holding the rings down the aisle. He was as excited and eager as they were – waving to his friends and family throughout the ceremony, and dancing in the bubbles all night long.
Everything was laid back and quiet, but there was joy surrounding them from the moment they got ready until we said our goodbyes. Katy & Jeremiah, we wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, and laughter as long and as far as that midnight train takes you!
