Marionfield Farm Spring Wedding

Marionfield Farm is one of our favorite venues out in Arlington WA.

We had never done a spring wedding out at the farm, so when Bailey & Yobani reached out, we were beyond excited.  There was rain in the forecast leading up to their wedding day, and it even hailed as we were driving out, but the weather held out for us – aside from it being unseasonably cold and windy.

Their spring wedding was filled with lots of family, lots of happy tears, and lots of laughs from family & friends.

I’ll let our beautiful bride, Bailey,  give all of the fun details though:

How did the two of you meet?

I am originally from WA but I lived in Idaho for 2 years. While in Idaho I became best friends with Cristal (bridesmaid) and I was in a relationship which is why I had moved to Idaho. The relationship was horrible and definitely not where I should have been. We ended up living like roommates for months and made the breakup official on new years eve. On Cristal’s birthday 2 days later I met the love of my life, completely unexpected. Yobani was stationed in WA for the Navy but went home on leave to visit family. Him and Cristal had been close friends since they were little so he showed up to the birthday party. He ended up taking my number out of Cristal’s phone and contacting me the next day. We went on as many dates as we could in the week before he went back to WA and that’s where our journey started 🙂

Tell me all of the awesome proposal details.

It was our 2 year dating anniversary. He took me out to a cute small restaurant in Poulsbo Wa. After dinner it was super cold (1/9) but he wanted to walk along the waterfront at this pretty park. I was against it cause I was cold and in a dress but he was persistent haha! Once we were walking I could tell he was nervous and as soon as he said “so I had a conversation with your dad” I knew what was coming. He got down on one knee and before I could even say yes had the ring on my finger. I thought it was so cute how nervous he was and of course I said yes! On the car ride home we called parents to let them know. He had asked both my mom and dads permission so they knew it was coming.

Is there anything special about Marionfield Farm? Why did you choose it for your spring wedding?

I love the natural feel. The dark wood and little details really made it feel special. The lighting and high ceilings felt so romantic.
(personal note from Kate: the lighting in the barn is one of my favorite parts too – it feels very “Harry Potter Great Hall” )

What are your wedding colors?

We are going very natural with lots of ivory and greens. The accent colors on the tables will be Navy Blue, Gold, small pops of burgundy/red roses.

What DIY projects did you have for your wedding?

1 large welcome sign, 1 large quote sign that we love and is actually from our home. I personally made 6 “love quote/movie quote” signs that will go down the aisle.

What are your most anticipated parts of your spring wedding day?

Saying I do. First Dance, Dance with Dad, walk down the aisle with dad.

If we bumped into you on a relaxed weekend, what would you be doing?

Visiting family, BBQs, Going to Pikes place market, shopping.
