It was a rainy one. Nature’s Connection Place is a beautiful outdoor wedding venue in Arlington, WA, and even more so when the rain is falling. It deepens all the tones around you – the trees, the flowers, even the color of the waterfall that graces the big lawn. The grass was a little on the squishy side, but neither we – or our couple – were going to let that get us down.
I’d love to tell you this couple’s story, but the bride herself does it so much better. And you won’t want to miss some of their fun personal details!
How did you two meet?
We met through OkCupid. He was the only guy I had any interest in meeting in person, and I was only on the site for a week before he messaged me. Our first date was at Safeco Field for a Mariners vs Astros game. We got there at 4:30 and didn’t stop talking and laughing until after 10. It was the best first date of my life!
Tell me the awesome proposal.
He took me to a Red Sox game at Safeco Field (where we had our first date). He’s a huge Red Sox fan, and we try to go to at least a few every year, so I thought nothing of it. He’d created a ring box out of a baseball, and hid it in his glove.
During the 7th inning stretch, we were watching the Jumbotron screen and all of a sudden I saw my name; “Carrie Chunn, Will you marry me?”
He’d also sneakily gotten the man behind us to videotape the whole thing!
Why did you choose your venue?
Nature’s Connection Place is beautiful! It’s so far out in the middle of no where in Arlington that you get kind of discouraged during the drive, but then you walk through the gates and it’s like a magical wonderland. Flowers and trees and green grass with a stream and little bridge. The whole place is perfect.
