Shooting Star Garden Wedding | Maple Valley

Summer is the perfect time for a Garden Wedding.

Last summer, we arrived to the garden wedding of Rachel and Scott. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood is Shooting Star Garden Events venue. As you enter the property, you are greeted by gorgeous flower gardens, colors and smells everywhere and a little oasis of quiet and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle just a few roads away.

Rachel and her closest friends were gathered in the getting ready house preparing to start their day, and Scott and his groomsmen spent most of their morning outside hanging out in lawn chairs and planning their perfect ceremony entrance – Star Wars themed, of course.

From the Imperial March entrance by the guys, to their specially themed cuff-links, to the decor elements that memorialized their loved ones past (including Scott’s parents), to their Rice Krispie cake and special family readings, Scott and Rachel’s garden wedding was filled with incredibly personal moments, lots of laughter and some tears. They had a lot of DIY touches from decor all the way down to dessert, and the weather was perfect for their garden wedding. And of course, you can’t forget the Sparkler exit! Oh! And the 1000 paper cranes they handmade for their wedding.

We all know you want to hear the details and no one tells the story better than the bride. In Rachel’s words:

Scott’s mom passed away December 16th 2014. Scott and I meet in January of 2016. He proposed to me December 17 2016. He took me to the nutcracker for a very romantic evening and he planned this specific day because it was a new beginning to look forward to after the anniversary of his mother passing away.

We met because of work. I manage a Hallmark store and he is the manger of U.S Bank and hallmark does their deposits there.

It is a beautiful garden wedding setting outside by Cedar river. The house on the property also has the feeling of Anne of Green Gables one of my favorite stories.

Having Scott see me for the first time walking down the aisle and our kiss.

Out adventuring with Scott or at home reading a good book.
