Lizzie & Jacob’s wedding was our first sunny & warm wedding of the 2022 season – and we had an amazing time! They have a cute story, like one you’d hear in a song, so I’ll let Lizzie tell it.
How did the two of you meet?
We met in a bar! Jacob was a competitive pool player and through the grape vine, I ended up with one of his pool cue’s and he wanted it back. He walked into the bar to meet a friend (whom I also knew) to retrieve his cue and there I was. We connected instantly. We were friends for a while, and that friendship grew into unconditional love.
Tell me all about the proposal details.
We planned our first trip to Lincoln City, Oregon. I am completely obsessed with the ocean and it was a spot I used to go to with my mom and sister when we were kids. With Jacob being from Spokane, I wanted to share the beauty and power of the ocean that I love with him. We are both big hikers, so we planned to hike Neahkanie mountain, which is just outside of Canon Beach, on our way down. He told me his original plan was to propose on top of Neahkanie Mountain, but the weather went south and the priority shifted to finding a beach ASAP!!! I spotted a sign that said Neahkanie Beach, so we pulled off. I just wanted to touch the water, not caring about the whipping wind and torrential rain. We walked out onto a barren beach, soaking wet, and he got down on one knee at the waters edge and popped the magical question. I couldn’t have imagined it any better. It was beyond perfect.
Why did you choose Hidden Meadows wedding venue?
The venue was chosen because it feels close to home. It has a very organic feel.
What are you most anticipating on your wedding day?
Reception entry! We have a badass song planned lol, and our first dance. Music is one of the biggest things that connects us. Without our shared love for it, I don’t know where we would be.
If we were to bump into you on a relaxing day off, what would you be doing?
Beers and video games when its nasty, out in the yard (I’m a plant mama) or adventuring when its nice!
