When I met up with Cathy, we had breakfast at a quaint diner in Snohomish. Her schedule is even more hectic than mine (she’s a pilot), and breakfast just seemed to work best. We chatted over wedding plans and kids, and family and life, and by the time we parted ways, I felt like I’d gained a new friend. It was no different when I met up with her and Brad for their engagement session and explored one of my favorite Snohomish Trails.
One of my favorite wedding places is at Willow’s Lodge in Woodinville. Cathy chose to not only get ready and do their first look there, but also to do their portraits there before the wedding. It made for a perfect backdrop and the sun cooperated well – especially for the middle of May! Once we finished up their portraits, we went to the Woodinville Whiskey Co (Cathy & Brad are one of their first weddings ever! So cool!) and celebrated their ceremony. They incorporated a hand-fasting, and the guests also threw paper airplanes at them after their first kiss (they’d written wedding wishes on the planes, how cute is that!)
They danced and laughed and spent their evening with those they love most, and I think their Woodinville Whiskey Co Wedding was perfect.
Of course, though, we want to hear some of the fun background details, right? Cathy was gracious enough to share them in her own words:
