Love like the Mountains | Sky Ridge Ranch Montana Wedding
We absolutely adore our Montana weddings.
On July 1, we were in Ronan MT, and as we drove up to this venue, my heart skipped a beat. It had an incredible view of the mountain range, and even before I saw the barn or the pond or the birch grove or the windmill or anything else that makes Sky Ridge Ranch an amazing spot for a Montana wedding, I knew that it was going to special.
But oh, when I walked into the barn …. my only word was wow. The incredible light and beautiful wood walls was like a dream, and then the decor. From gray tablecloths to lace and metal accents and stunning place settings, the incredible farm style head table, signage, the attention to detail was amazing. I felt like I was photographing something that had been stylized just for me.
Sara was in her ready room, already being prepped by the talented Ashlee. Her sister-in-laws, mom, best friend and mother in law filled the room with their laughter and joy, and when Sara stepped into her dress, the day became even more magical.
Sara and Mike asked to have their first look on the dock by the pond, and then we spent time wandering the grounds for photos. The day was perfect – hot and sunny, and the view was showing off for all of us.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet, and the new Mr & Mrs Cline got down to the important stuff – making memories with their dearest friends and family. The toasts were filled with heart and tears, and the dance floor stayed full all night.
They thought of everything, and their wedding was truly a day to remember for everyone present. We wish them both a lifetime of love, laughter, joy and magic!
And of course, we want to share a few words from the bride, interview style:
We love to hike, fish, and be outdoors. One of our favorite hikes is a 10mi round trip hike into Twin Lakes outside Anaconda. It’s one of my favorite places in Montana, and was one of the first places we hiked into after we started dating. As you hike into the upper lake it opens up from the trees to this beautiful view of a pristine lake surrounded by trees and big snow covered peaks all around. At his family reunion two years ago we hiked up to the lake with a bunch of the family. We fished for a while and then a storm started to chase us out. Mike sent everyone down the trail and told me to hang back for a picture with him. We stood on a big rock at the mouth of the lake and he got down on one knee and I said yes! I was so excited I grabbed the ring and put it on my own finger (oops!). He said he picked this place because it was during our first trip to the lake that he knew I had fallen in love with Montana. The ring he gave me has a center sapphire from a sapphire mine near our favorite hunting, fishing, and hang-out spots so it holds a special meaning for us.
I lived in the sorority across the street from his fraternity in college.. Not the most romantic story haha but we knew pretty quickly that it was something special and here we are almost 10 years and many adventures later. Mike didn’t know Sara’s last name initially, and then didn’t know how to spell her last name once he learned it, so he couldn’t find her on Facebook (it’s never official until FB!) So he went to fraternity house every day for two-three weeks trying to “randomly” bump into her again. Little did he know that I was doing the same thing trying to find him!
Feels like Montana-mountains on the horizon and a beautiful redone barn with reclaimed wood and rustic décor. The venue is a great example of what it means to be a Montanan. The majesty of the Mission mountains in the distance, the working horse ranch/barn, the stream through the property filled with native trout, wildflowers in the meadow, bonfire, spring fed pond, etc. It’s what every Montanan loves about living in this state.

SNOHOMISH WASHINGTON OPEN TO TRAVEL WITHIN THE UNITED STATES
How long have you been a Snohomish Wedding Photographer?
Kate has been photographing since 1997 and Josh started in 2011. We started photographing weddings together then.
Josh and Kate of GSquared Weddings have photographed over 630 weddings together across more than 15 years — specifically in the Seattle and Snohomish County area. That’s not a flex for its own sake. It means that when your timeline runs 20 minutes late, when the clouds roll in over your outdoor ceremony, or when your reception venue is lit exclusively by Edison bulbs and bad overhead lighting, we’ve been there. Hundreds of times. And we know exactly what to do.
As a husband and wife team, we also bring something no two-photographer strangers can replicate — we communicate without words, we read a room together, and we move through your day as a unit. A Snohomish wedding photographer with genuine field experience doesn’t just take better photos — they protect your entire day experience. That’s what 630 weddings actually buys you.
How do I know GSquared Weddings is the right Snohomish wedding photography team for us?
Honestly? You’ll know pretty fast. If you read through our work and our words and thought these people get it — trust that instinct.
We’re built for couples who want their day to feel like themselves, not a performance. Couples who want a team that genuinely shows up — not just with cameras, but as timeline wranglers, veil fixers, chaos calm-ers, and two people who will absolutely tear up at your first look. We’ve spent 15 years and 630 weddings earning the trust of couples across Seattle and Snohomish County, and our approach has never changed: protect your vision, protect your experience, and keep your messy, beautiful, real love story safe.
If you’re looking for heavily staged, ultra-polished, everybody-stand-still photography — we’re probably not your people, and we’ll tell you that honestly. But if you want someone to be there for all of it, exactly as it happens? That’s exactly what we do.
What is your photography style, and will my Snohomish wedding photos look natural or overly edited?
At GSquared Weddings, our photography style is rooted in one core belief: real is always better than perfect. We shoot in a documentary-editorial style — meaning we’re capturing what’s actually happening, not directing a magazine spread. Candid tears, windblown hair, belly laughs mid-vow, the flower girl losing it in the corner — that’s what we’re after.
Our editing is clean, timeless, and true to life. We don’t chase trendy presets or heavy filters that will feel dated in five years. What you see in our galleries is what actually happened that day — the light, the color, the emotion — preserved honestly. Your Snohomish wedding photos will look like you, not like a template.
