What happens when you mix a decade of love and an amazing venue, Trinity Tree Farm? A wedding day to remember.
This pair have been together for over 10 years, and their love story is strong and beautiful. They are friends first and foremost, and have built a life of experiences together. I adore the way Sam looks at Jessica, and the way her smile lights up the room when she looks at him.
This past Saturday, March 25, Jessica started hair and makeup at her hotel, and then we all went to Trinity Tree Farm in Issaquah and finished up the pre-wedding prep. The sky was indecisive that day – a mix of clouds and rain and sunbreaks. We were given a sun break long enough to do first look, couple photos, and their bridal party and family photos outside.
They made their awesome welcome sign and pinecone fire-starters, but the whole event was filled with elegant yet simple details. Greenery on the tables was that perfect touch paired with the white lanterns and candles, and all of their bronze details – like the handwritten place-cards at every setting on the table. The room glowed with warmth thanks to their decor set against the wood walls of the Trinity Tree Farm barn.
Of course, we all want to hear the rest of the story, so here are a few details, from Jessica herself:
-
Sam was in Pennsylvania training for a new job and I flew out to visit him. We discussed driving to New York City to spend the day sight-seeing, and when we arrived in the city, Sam had surprised me with a hotel for the night! I had just started my job at as a nurse in Seattle and worked a few night shifts, so I was a little sleep deprived and didn’t make any sort of connection that he might propose! We spent the whole day walking about the city sight-seeing and then went back to our hotel to regroup. Sam mentioned we should head to Central Park to take a few nice photos, since the sun came out. We had my camera and a tripod, found a spot in Central Park, and after Sam was messing with the camera settings (to take multiple pictures at once), he walked over and got down on one knee – a moment I will never forget!

We met in 2006, at Getty’s Cove campground (no longer exists), which was about 15 miles outside of the Gorge Amphitheater. We both went to this campground to camp out for Warped Tour and happened to be camping in spots right next to each other. We met the first night, after wandering around the campground with friends and exchanged phone numbers (and MySpace accounts!)

I love Christmas, a lot. The Barn is absolutely beautiful and I think we would have chosen it regardless, but the fact that it lies within a Christmas Tree Farm totally takes the cake.
