Fit for a Queen (or a Wizard) | Thornewood Castle Wedding

This couple has spent nearly a lifetime together, just like you’d imagine for a romantic fairytale or Disney movie.

When Jaci & JP told me about their Thornewood Castle wedding and mentioned the subtle Harry Potter inspiration with some Disney thrown in (the cute hidden Mickeys in her bouquet, and matching shoes), I was beyond excited. We all know, Harry Potter is life.

Their wedding day was beautiful. The sun was shining, and their family and friends were in great spirits as they gathered around these two to watch them say their vows after a decade of being together. It was funny, and better yet, fun, and a true celebration of a love story.

We asked Jaci to give us some details about their day and some of the things leading up to their Thornewood Castle wedding:

How did the two of you meet?
We met at a rave! We both really love dance music and used to go almost every weekend.

Tell us about the proposal.
We were at Disneyland and JP woke me up with coffee and a proposal written down in Disney quotes.

Why did you choose Thornewood Castle wedding venue?
It’s just drop dead gorgeous and matches with our Disney/Harry Potter motif.

What inspired your wedding colors and clothing choices?
JP’s birthstone is a sapphire and ours rings are both sapphire and then plum purple is just one of my favorite colors. And silver to add some brightness even though we’re vampires.

What’s your most anticipated part of your wedding day?
JP getting to see the whole dress, makeup, crazy thing for the first time. IT’S SO HARD TO KEEP THINGS HIDDEN!

If we bumped into you on a relaxing weekend, what would you be doing?
We like to explore new things like new restaurants or go up to Seattle and check out a cool travelling museum exhibit. Or just poking around Half Price Books because that place is life haha.
